I’ve spent much of my professional life as a Credit Manager and sometimes have had to make tough calls, so some of the nicknames I’ve been called cannot be printed here!
Manage and minimise the credit risks that we as a company engage with. This does not only include assessing new deals, but also covers much of the legal, documentary and policy settings around credit risk.
Back, trust and believe in yourself no matter what life throws at you. If it doesn’t kill you, it will make you stronger.
I got a summer holiday job at an ice cream parlour in a mall. I don’t have fond memories of it as the pay was about 4 Rand per hour (what’s that in Australian currency, about 20 cents?) and while I was walking back to my car after being paid my first wage in cash, I got mugged and all my money was stolen!
Doing something with my family, like fishing, going for a bushwalk or gardening. I’m fond of DIY so I may also be planning or working on a new project (which normally includes fixing something that the kids had broken!).
Book = “Bravo Two Zero” by Andy McNab, Movie = The first-ever movie I saw at a theater was Aliens, so I’ve always been very excited when a new movie in that series came out (and there’s been a few!), Song = “Wish you were here” by Pink Floyd
The small, close-knit team where everyone counts and are not just a number. The humour we share right throughout the company is wonderful and says something about the level of trust and comfort we all have with each other.
