PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THE NATURE OF YOUR BUSINESS.
In July 1997, Steve Esdale and Wayne Sinclair commenced business as Esdale Sinclair & Associates.

Following the closure of the traditional office network by the major banks in regional Queensland, Steve & Wayne recognised the need for a locally based finance brokerage business that provided old-fashioned ‘face-to-face’ service.

Our clients include businesses in the following industries – automotive, aviation, building, construction, earthmoving, engineering, export, import, information technology, retail, manufacturing, mining, primary production, printing, professional practice, transport – fleet owner, transport – owner driver, woodworking, wholesale

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST ISSUES YOUR CLIENTS ARE FACING IN THE CURRENT CLIMATE?
Like everyone the uncertainty of the future is playing a huge part – how long the government support remains in place or they decide to set a limit with the support in terms of time or money, then it’s up to businesses. The financial strain is obvious.
WHAT IMPACT DO YOU THINK COVID-19 HAS HAD ON THE LENDING LANDSCAPE?
Lenders are harder on the credit assessment. ATO debt is automatically declined – it’s become a litmus test. Accountants are directing clients to use ATO debt and banks aren’t responding in a positive way. Second tier lenders with an appetite for higher risk are ok with the ATO debt.

However business owners are worried about their debtors and how what they owe, impacts them personally.

HOW DO YOU SEE THIS CHANGING IN THE COMING MONTHS?
In certain industries, business owners are deferring decisions to delay equipment purchases, unsure about how long the uncertainty will last and not willing to take on further financial strain.
WHAT PROBLEMS HAS APRICITY SOLVED FOR YOUR CLIENTS?
Urgent cashflow problems have been resolved through invoice finance and Apricity gives you the flexibility to fund the debtors and to what extent, keeping your portfolio manageable.  The other positive is the ability to come and go as needed, without any penalties.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT APRICITY?
Talking with the key decision makers (Linden – CEO) and maintaining regular contact with them. Being able to pick up the phone and talk directly to the CEO is very handy. The other thing I like is the fact they’re also constantly looking to refer business back (a two way street), which is a bonus.
