Alex is an experienced finance professional with strong skills in Relationship Management, Business Development and Customer Service.

With NZ Level 5 Financial Advice and Investment Advice certification, alongside many years of experience in the insurance industry, Alex has an abundance of knowledge across these sectors.

Forward-thinking, entrepreneurial by nature and not one to spend his time doing nothing, Alex has written and completed three Young Fantasy novels and continues to work towards publishing them.

A passion for regular exercise sees him snowboarding, biking, hiking, paddle boarding or kayaking most weekends.

He also has a keen interest in languages and is proficient in English and German, whilst currently studying Spanish & Polish.

Where did you work before this position?

I worked at AIA Insurance as a Practice Development Specialist.

What does your job at Apricity Finance entail?

Relationship building with new and existing clients to provide an explanation of what our product offers and will be an excellent solution for their company.

Tell us about some of your career highlights, thus far.

I’ve worked as a parasail instructor in the middle of the great barrier reef in a place called Hamilton Island to a bar in a motel in a beautiful city called Cologne, Germany. All my jobs have been amazing and I’ve learnt tons from each and every one of them.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always loved animals and as a child wanted to be a veterinarian but growing up I soon learnt that a vet was actually just a pet doctor and not just someone that gets to play with animals all the time so that quickly changed.

What was your favourite subject in school/university?

At school I’d have to say English as writing is a bit of a hobby of mine.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my Level 5 Financial Adviser Qualifications.

What would you do as a career if you weren’t doing this?

Working in another role where I am able to be face to face with my clients/advisers and be the best I can be.
