WHY THE GALLOPING GREENS?
Growing up as a Coogee local, Linden Toll (Apricity CEO), has always been a passionate supporter of the club. However, the support for the Galloping Greens goes much deeper, back to Linden’s grandfather and has been passed down through generations with many weekends spent at Coogee Oval. Linden grew up watching the likes of the Ella Brothers weave their magic and put running rugby on the map. With a rich history and strong club culture, Apricity has been a proud sponsor of the Randwick District Rugby Union Football Club since 2018.
ABOUT THE CLUB
The history of the club dates back to 1882, not to mention that Randwick District Rugby Union Football Club (RDRUFC) has won 32 First Grade Premierships and 28 club championships. The calibre of players that the club has produced over the years is astounding with 108 players going on to play for the Wallabies such as David Campese, Ken Catchpole and George Gregan, Simon Poidevin, Sir Nicholas Shehadie, Phil Kearns and Cyril Towers.
Additionally, the club has produced many successful Wallabies coaches including 1991 World Cup winner Bob Dwyer, Ewen McKenzie, Michael Cheika and current England coach Eddie Jones.
The club has heavy involvement in the community through causes such as the Randwick Rugby Scholarship program to support young rugby players balance the pursuit of a sporting career and academic studies. To find out more about the work RDRUFC does off the field, click here.
APRICITY AND RANDWICK
The ongoing partnership between Aprcity and RDRUFC has included annual lunches, sponsored home games and the Apricity Kick For Cash as halftime entertainment.
