  • LLB

Founder of Apricity Finance and heading up the team as CEO, Linden brings more than 25 years working across the finance industry in Australia and Asia. His extensive career covers time working in distribution, capital raising, product development and investment reviews, responsible manager and board level roles. Linden has wide personal and professional networks as well as significant experience in marketing at retail, intermediary and institutional levels.

Linden commenced his career on the Sydney Futures Exchange as a pit trader and later as a broker. He then worked internationally for a number of years in Singapore, where he ran Sanwa Futures with more than 30 employees. In 2003, Linden made the transition into property funds management, where he held Head of Distribution roles in a number of firms including Multiplex Capital and Landmark White. He was in the start-up phase of a number of highly successful funds management businesses, giving him an extensive experience in capital raising and product development as the compliance and legal aspects of funds management.

Most recently, 2013 Linden established Apricity Finance after he saw a gap in the SME finance market. Linden and his fellow directors felt that bank finance options for SMEs was extremely limited and that current factoring models were inflexible and difficult for small businesses to understand.

After establishing their first office in Bowral, NSW, in 2016 Apricity set up offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland. Apricity’s team of 20 staff currently looks after 60+ clients across a broad cross-section of industries, some of who have been around since Apricity’s establishment.

Linden holds a Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University. He is a member of a number of boards and performs the duties of Responsible Manager on two other AFS licences. Linden is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.

Father to five, Linden loves living in the picturesque NSW Southern Highlands. He has been an active member of a number of local groups, including currently serving as a board member of the Bowral Golf Club.

What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?
1. To always be patient.
2. Perseverance is very important – never give up on your goals!
3. I’ve learnt that you can only make things happen yourself – you can’t and shouldn’t expect others to do it for you.
What are you most proud of?
I am very proud of my family. I have a beautiful hard-working wife and five amazing children, all of whom I am incredibly proud.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
I couldn’t live without tea – I have about ten cups a day.
What was the best concert you ever attended?
The best concert I’ve ever attended was the Highwaymen – Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings – four legends that came together to help a friend. I saw them in 1991 and loved it! That would be very closely followed by my first U2 concert, the Unforgettable Fire Tour in 1984.
What is the most important thing you have learned in the past five years?
The most important thing I’ve learned is to believe in what you set out to do. I think it’s important to listen and take on others’ advice in order to help achieve the results you’re after but to ensure you don’t allow them to alter the final goal.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
I hate Sydney traffic!
When are you happiest?
I am happiest when I am with my family celebrating the little things in life.
